How many will suffer before we wake up?

Here's a great article at Breitbart.com covering the dangers of cell phone use:

a quick excerpt:

"Recalling the 70 years that it took to remove lead from paint and gasoline and the 50 years that it took to convincingly establish the link between smoking and lung cancer, I argue that we must learn from our past to do a better job of interpreting evidence of potential risk," said Herberman.
I love the beauty of that statement.

Of course, it fails to mention that wireless technology is just as bad, if not worse. It shows proper concern for cell phone use among children and teens, but fails to recognize the dangerous equivalent of "secondhand smoke": the fact that most schools and libraries have cellular antennas on the roof, not to mention wireless internet throughout. A large proportion of homes are getting wireless modems. These sources of radiation may not be directly applied to the ear, but they are much stronger, and they are continuous.

I'm glad that there is at least some exposure to this concept that our wireless addiction needs some sanity applied, but warnings on the packages of cigarettes wasn't enough, and it won't be enough here either, because in both situations (that is, smoking and cell phone use), the innocent are harmed.
